For our last babe hike, the Alpine Women Collective teamed up with Northeast Mountaineering for two day hikes and an overnight at Doublehead Cabin in Jackson, New Hampshire! NEM is a guiding service based in the White Mountains. We had a beautiful winter day, warm temps and a snowstorm that night which left behind beautiful powdery trails to walk (and ski!) down the next morning. Big thanks to Seattle Cider and Two Beers Brewing for providing delicious drinks for us at the top!

The Wounded Vet Expeditionary Group together with Northeast Mountaineering and Boston’s Wounded Vet Run will be hiking to the summit of Mount Washington, Kearsarge North or Mount Willard on June 3, 2017 to raise money for 5 of New England’s most severely wounded Veterans.
Join us and give back to those who have sacrificed their well-being to protect the values and freedoms that make this great country strong.
Participants must raise at least $200* to climb. So, let’s go!
ChaseTheSummit.com: Ice Climbing on Mount Willard!
It’s been a while since I’ve been up to the White Mountains on account of baby number 2 coming into the picture in September. Between work obligations and our expanding family it’s been difficult to find “me time”. However, when my friends at Northeast Mountaineering offered an opportunity to tag along on a multi-pitch ice climb in Crawford Notch I could not say no! I had a little vacation time left in my “use it or lose it” bucket so I decided to blow off work and go for it.
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect for the day. I’m not a super experienced ice climber. The extent of my climbing has been pitches on some local ice, and indoor gym climbing. I was stoked to get on a multi pitch climb this early in the season!
